Staub Lab Services was founded in 2023 with a clear purpose: to fix what traditional medical staffing agencies often get wrong. Founded by Ashley Olson, an ASCP-certified Pathologists’ Assistant, the agency was built on firsthand experience working inside real medical laboratories—not behind a recruiter’s desk.
Before founding Staub Lab Services, Ashley worked as a traveling Pathologists’ Assistant through multiple staffing agencies. During these assignments, she identified a recurring challenge in the industry: many agencies lacked staff with real medical laboratory experience. This disconnect often led to inefficient placements and a limited understanding of the unique needs of lab professionals. Staub Lab Services was created to bridge that gap by offering a staffing model built by lab professionals, for lab professionals.
Ashley’s career in pathology began in 2013, where she quickly developed a passion for laboratory medicine. After completing PA school in 2018 and earning her ASCP certification, she spent four years working as a Pathologists’ Assistant in New York City. In 2022, she transitioned to traveling work, gaining deeper insight into the staffing landscape and further refining her vision for a more specialized and thoughtful approach to medical laboratory staffing.
In late 2023, Ashley began accepting contracts independently under Staub Lab Services, working directly with clients and managing her own placements to ensure a higher level of service, professionalism, and accountability. As demand grew, the agency expanded.
By 2025, Staub Lab Services welcomed administrative staff and additional traveling Pathologists’ Assistants to meet increasing client needs. From that point forward, we began operating as a collaborative team—allowing us to serve more clients while maintaining the personalized, lab-informed approach the agency was founded on.
While currently placing Pathologists’ Assistants, Histotechnologists and Histotechnicians, we plan to expand our staffing services across the full spectrum of medical laboratory roles, including Medical Laboratory Technicians and Scientists, Cytotechnologists, and more. Grounded in real lab experience and driven by quality and integrity, we are building Staub Lab Services into a trusted leader in medical laboratory staffing nationwide.
